Yummy Summer Soaps!

Mmmm. Summer is one of the BEST times of the year for yummy soap scents, especially fruity ones. Here are a few of my favorites!

Cherry Limeade! What a yummy summer combination! This soap is from Flourish Bath and Body (find her HERE @ Etsy) and is absolutely divine! This bar has poppy seeds layered through the green part of the bar, so you're never without exfoliation. The pink part of the soap is shea butter, so it's nice and smooth. I've already grabbed three bars of this soap because it leaves the shop at the end of August. Love this one. It never lasts long in my soap dish!

Pick up your own bar on Etsy from Flourish Bath and Body before it's all gone! (or I buy them all, either way)

If you like PiƱa Coladas, then this soap is for you! It smells like it's straight of a cocktail glass, or as my boss says, it's like taking a bath in a cocktail. This soap is from my favorite Etsy seller, Sunbasilgarden. (find her HERE @ Etsy) The soap has a great ribbed design that feels like a massage in the shower and poppy seeds for natural exfoliation.

Find this soap on Etsy from Sunbasilgarden.

Yes, I have an obsession with Sunbasilgarden soaps. Can you blame me? They're almost good enough to eat! This soap, Tango with the Mango, is one of my favorites! It's the perfect shower soap, ribbed for a massage-like experience topped with a sugar scrub! It's also a slanted shape, wider at the bottom, narrower at the top, for an easy hold! It also smells like mango. What else could you want in a bar of soap?

Another cocktail soap? Yes, indeed. But this one is a mimosa scented bar from Epically Epic Soap. (find her HERE @ Etsy) This orange-y soap is a great square shape and has orange peel added as an exfoliant. Another plus, the cute little soapy orange slice in the middle of the soap! Smells good, feels good, mmm.

Five-Star Friday : I Dream of...Creamsicle?

Yum. What's a better treat on a hot summer day than a creamsicle? Well, maybe these two treats. There's one for your hands and one for your lips. Now get over to the freezer and grab a cold creamsicle...well, after reading this.

Mmm. I flip over Sunbasilgarden soaps all the time. They're the majority in my soap inventory, so I use them the most. This one is just perfect. It smells so much like a creamsicle you just want to eat it, or at least we wanted to eat it. (find Sunbasilgarden HERE @ Etsy) The layers of orange and cream are packed with glycerin and essential oils for soft skin, which is important in the summer. This is definitely one of the my favorite summer soaps. I'll be grabbing my spoon for more before this one goes away until next year!

You can grab this soap on Etsy from Sunbasilgarden.

I've already mentioned what an addict I am to lip balms in general and to Familiar Lover's shea lip balms specifically. (find her HERE @ Etsy) Her lip balm formulas are just so smooth and creamy that it's perfect she makes one in creamsicle! The scent is just so yummy when you put it all over you lips all day. This is another product perfect for summer, because creamsicle just screams summer. I love balms from Familiar Lover because they go on smooth and have a glossy shine on my lips. Forget goopy lip glosses, this is much better! (smells better, too.)

You can buy this balm on Etsy from Familiar Lover.

Five-Star Friday!

It's the end of the week. It's pay-day. (for most people). And I'm handpicking my favorite five-star items for you to enjoy. :) Happy Friday. TGIF!

This is one of those soaps where my boyfriend said, "Okay, stop huffing the soap now." This literally SMELLS LIKE FRESH APPLES. And it should! It's Red Apple Crisp by Sunbasilgarden. (find her HERE @ Etsy) I personally think this is the best smelling soap ever. I'm biased because I love everything from Sunbasilgarden, but this is my favorite.

The bad news for you is that Red Apple Crisp is now out of season. The good news is that she more apple soaps in stock for fall. Check out that apple page HERE.

I'm addicted to lip balms, but it's also really difficult to please me because I like moisture and shine. This lip balm has it all, and as an added cherry on top, it smells like shirley temple. No, not the actress! The drink. Yum. This delicious lip balm is made by Familiar Lover. (find her HERE @ Etsy) It's smooth, shiny, and smells great. It also comes in an oval tube, which is awesome because your lip balm will never roll away again. She fills her lip balm tubes all the way up, so you're never unsatisfied. This is actually the first balm I've ever finished. I can't wait to get another one, even though I have these balms in other scents.

You can buy this yummy balm on Etsy from Familiar Lover.

Don't you hate those gross hand sanitizers that smell completely of alcohol and then leave your hands tight and dry? I think they're gross. They smell bad and feel bad. So I decided to try something new! While buying soaps one day, I stumbled upon this Mango Yuzu hand sanitizer from Heart J Creations. (find her HERE @ Etsy) This hand sanitizer smells great! Not only does it not smell like alcohol, it moisturizers thanks to the vitamin E, glycerin, and other moisturizers added to the formula. Don't like Mango Yuzu? That's just the scent I chose. She has other scents like Apple Slice and Strawberry Cream. It's a nice, flat bottle as well, so it fits in my apron perfectly while I'm working, so I can use it after handling dirty money between hand washings.

Getting Lippy : Raspberry Lime and Momotaro

I love buying new things on Etsy. I also love finding new things on Etsy. My new favorite thing to buy is lip balm. I can never get enough lip balm.

I love the smell of this Raspberry Lime lip balm by Long Winter Farm. (find them HERE @ Etsy) From the get-go, I wasn't all that pleased. It melted, so I stuck it in the freezer. The texture of the balm after that was grainy and in order to keep it solid, I had to stop carrying it around with me. The only reason I even started to like the lip balm was because I started keeping it on my bedside table near the AC. I guess the cool air kept the balm together better, because after that I liked putting it on my lips. I was actually pretty bummed out when the last bit of it fell out of the tube when it was finished.

You can buy this yummy raspberry lime lip balm on Etsy from Long Winter Farm,

Finally, a peach lip balm that isn't sickeningly sweet. Meet Momotaro - Sweet Spring Peach from Soapopotamus. (find her HERE @ Etsy) It's sweet, definitely, but not overkill, and the balm is nice and smooth and never greasy. It doesn't melt in my make-up bag and is small enough to keep in my pocket. It's also packed with shea butter and essential oils.

You can buy this lip balm on Etsy from Soapopotamus.

My Soap Dish : Peppermint Lemonade and Kumquat

I order too many soaps sometimes, so I change them out of my soap dish frequently. The main reason for this is that I was my hands a LOT and that I actually wash them for the germ killing recommendation of 30 seconds. After the soap gets to a certain size, I pop them in a plastic bag and take them on the go so that I don't need to use the yucky soap pumps at restaurants, stores, and work.

The smell of this soap was a lot lighter before I added water. It's Peppermint Lemonade from Flourish Bath and Body. (find her HERE @ Etsy) I'm not really a fan of this bar. The scent of the peppermint, in my opinion, totally overpowers the lemonade. It smells like strong peppermint gum in some respect. The bar itself is a soft rectangle with apricot seeds for exfoliation. Personally, I like the apricot seeds. They're gentle and not too harsh on my hands. The bar is pretty, but I definitely won't be buying another one.

You can buy this soap on Etsy from Flourish Bath and Body. (or if you're like me and don't like peppermint that much, go HERE to browse her other soaps.)

Sunbasilgarden is my favorite soap maker. I'll say that right now and put that bias out front and center. I have so many different bars from her it's practically an obsession. (find her HERE @ Etsy) I grabbed this Pink Bunco Dice soap (I don't even know what Bunco is) because it's kumquat scented. Kumquat. It's really sweet, but not overly sweet, and it scents up my bathroom nicely. This one doesn't have any exfoliants in it, but it's nice and smooth. I have another one hiding on my soap shelf, but I'll probably pop a different scent in the dish before this one makes it around again.

You can buy this soap on Etsy from Sunbasilgarden.

Shower Hour

Bath products are obviously an important part of my shower. There are different types of soap, hair products, and lotions that I like and use for showering and after the shower.

I tend to like a bigger bar of soap to shower with than washing my hands, which is why I like this 5.5 oz bar from Sunbasilgarden. (find her HERE @ Etsy) This ribbed shower bar is called Blooming Tulips and smells like a fresh garden. The colors scream spring, but it's good for anytime of the year. My favorite part is the green layer in the middle, which is sparkly. The smell, lather, and ribbed style of the bar is great. (feels like a massage!)

You can buy this soap on Etsy from Sunbasilgarden.

Because I have thick hair which is also color treated, I need a condition that can handle my hair in the shower. This brings me to my Lemon Cream Aloe Condition from Heart J Creations. (find her HERE @ Etsy) The formula is aloe based rather than water based, so it moisturizes better than traditional conditioners. The bottle itself is on the small side, 6 oz., but it's generous for the price. Her conditioners are usually portioned into 4 oz. bottles, but because of the overstock you can buy the 6 oz. bottle for less. This particular scent is listed on special because too much was made. Get it while it lasts and you can try Lemon Cream in the shower before choosing your own scent, and there are many to choose from!

You can buy this conditioner on Etsy from Heart J Creations while her supplies last.

I love flip flops for hanging around in the house and also for going out when I'm not working in the summer. Problem is, flip flops are not great for your feet unless you like having dry, cracked heels all the time. Bring on the Blackberry Tea whipped body butter I use from LoveLeeSoaps. (find her HERE @ Etsy) This lotion comes in an 8 oz. jar, which is a lot more product that you would think. The scent is close to nice, cold iced tea in the summer and the lotion itself is smooth and thick going on your skin. My feet love this lotion after showering. I can see this being great for winter skin in the coming months as the lotion is full of moisture.

I was lucky enough to score the last jar of Blackberry Tea during a sale, but there are plenty of different varieties to try. (I'm eyeing Cherry Limeade)

You can buy one of these different varieties of whipped body butter HERE from LoveLeeSoaps.

My Soap Dish : Strawberry Banana and Berry Lemonade

My soap dish holds two juicy, summery, glycerin soaps - both with exfoliants.

The first soap I'm scrubbing with is a soap from Sunbasilgarden. (find her HERE @ Etsy) It's a Strawberry Banana Milkshake scented soap with poppy seeds as an exfoliant. It really smells straight out of the blender. Try this by your sink in a pretty dish. It's perfect for scrubbing hands with a nice square shape.

You can buy this soap on Etsy from Sunbasilgarden.

My rating: ★★★★✩
The second soap in my large soap dish is this berry lemonade scented wonder from Flourish Bath and Body (find her HERE @ Etsy) It's a tart, but sweet, berry lemonade combination with blueberry seeds as an exfoliant. The bar is the perfect handwashing shape of a soft rectangle, not too long and not too wide.

You can buy this soap on Etsy from Flourish Bath and Body.

Welcome To My Soap Dish

We all have different interests, and mine just happens to be soap right now. Not just any old soap, but handmade, individual soap of the natural variety. This blog serves to promote talented soap makers and review some of the best soaps, as well as drool over different types of soap and other natural, handmade beauty products such as lip balms and sugar scrubs. I'll be providing pictures and links of different products and soapers.

One feature I plan to have is "My Soap Dish" which is the soap(s) I'm using right now. Look to the next post as I get started.

Stay Clean!
